Chili Cookoffs

Affiliated CASI Pods sponsor and support local and regional Chili Cookoffs. Last year, CASI sanctioned over 500 Chili Cookoffs throughout the United States, Canada, and the Virgin Islands, and contributed over 1.2 million dollars to worthy charitable organizations.

CASI cooks compete for the honor of being recognized for an excellent bowl of chili, in addition to earning points toward qualification in the Terlingua International Chili Championship©.

Competition chili is blind judged on a basis of the following criteria:

·  Aroma

·  Consistency

·  Red Color

·  Taste

·  Aftertaste
